Thanks so much Amy/David, I’m learning so much with your videos and all the advice (plain and simple for me to understand) I unfortunately can’t make use of your special offer, I live in South Africa and the Rand Dollar exchange doesn’t allow it. But thanks again for your time much appreciated.
When your lens opening becomes larger (f2.8) what happens to the lens speed – one would think that this will increase? Would that not result in having an effect on your end product?
Think squint! If nearsighted we can squint to increase our depth of field as squinting artificially gives our eyes a smaller lens opening. Same happens if we move to an area with more light.
I Prefer ” Range of Good Focus” to “Dept of Field” as ROGF is more graphic and easier to visualize. If you look at an old 35mm camera lens that you have focused at say 20″/0.5m you can see to the left and right of this distance how much range of good focus you would have at various apertures (F stops). Remember that you always have more range of good focus behind the distance at which camera is focused than in front of that distance. Good luck and thank you David and Amy for great videos.

Number 3 of an excellent series. Amy seems to have the knack of making everything so obvious and simple. I particularly liked the wet flower picture. Seems so obvious to create a bit of shade by moving yourself and so avoid blowing out the highlights. Thanks Amy and David
