Create timeless and artistic photos
Black and white photos are timeless and more artistic than color photos. They almost have a surreal and dreamlike quality; looking cleaner than a color image.
In this course, you'll learn how to 'see' in black and white; what types of photos are best converted to black and white; why tone, shadow and texture are so important; and why contrast is king.
And, of course, I'll show you how to convert your images to black and white the best way (yes, there is more than one way!).

I can improve your photos too!
This is a free 5 day course on Black and White Photography.
I'll start by showing you how to convert a color image into black and white.
Next, I'll reveal how to take beautiful black and white shots of:
Finally, I'll reveal the 'advanced' B&W conversion technique. Not all black and white conversions are the same! (Oh, and it's not really 'advanced' at all!)
Not necessarily. Your camera likely has a 'convert to black and white' option. Most of this course helps you 'see' photos that work fabulously in black and white, so your in-camera conversion will work just fine. However, for the more advanced conversions I discuss on day 5, you will need an image editor like Photoshop or Elements.
A Black and White conversion can make an amazing photo - even of the most boring of subjects! Image Source
I've avoided using technical jargon in my courses and ebooks, so you'll get amazing insights; even if you're new to photography. And when I use a term that not everyone would know, I link to a separate article that fully explains the term.
And you can use your current camera! My techniques work for Point and Shoot, Bridge and DSLR cameras!
My name is David Peterson and I have been teaching photographers all around the world since 2005.
My motto is "Help the world take better photos" and I plan to continue to do this by providing free photography tips on my website.
Unlike most other photography teachers, I realize that most people don't need to know the technical details of their camera to take a great shot. So my courses explain every technique in a non-technical way along with lots of examples.
It is my hope that on this website, I can help you come to that same realization too!
David Peterson.
Your lessons are clear, precise and so easy to understand. The pictures you included really helped to cement the points.

I've attended a few courses on photography including the on-line course. But none of it that gave me a straight and layman explanation until I received your secrets of photography. Even with the early few secrets, I have tried and got wonderful and meaningful images that I have been trying all these years. Thanks David for your brilliant and systematic approach.
