Today's Topic: Vibrant Sunsets
While your camera’s automatic ‘sunset mode’ works okay, it does’t give you fine control over your image. Today, I’ll show you how to use Exposure Compensation (or manual mode) to underexpose your image to keep the vibrant reds and yellows you see!

Challenges
Beginner Challenge
Learning to adjust your exposure is an essential skill when shooting sunsets. Intentionally underexpose your shot to make the most of the colors and highlights as you take a shot of a child's toy watching the sunset.
Intermediate Challenge
All over the world in local beauty spots where the sun sets you will find people stopping to watch. Choose a single stranger and take a photo of them enjoying the sunset. Choose your settings to make your colors vibrant.
Advanced Challenge
Some sunsets take your breath away but it can be tricky catching that in camera. Spend time seeking that breath taking sunset before choosing your settings and taking your shot. Your image should be a scene suitable for a meditation themed calendar.
Photo Critiques
I'll be selecting three photos from those that have been uploaded to be critiqued by one of our coaches. I'll share that critique with everyone. So to increase the chances of your image being selected, upload your challenge image quickly. You'll receive the first of those critiques along with Day 4's topic.
What's Next?
I'll send your next topic "Perfect Components" on 7 May.
Overwhelmed?
Are you overwhelmed with all this new content I'm sending you? Don't be! You don't need to complete everything right away. To break things down into manageable chunks, I've written a checklist showing you what to do each day, and what you can skip.
