Today I announce the five "Power of 5" winners.
Many subscribers will remember that last month I held a "Great Tip Search", and with that a competition. The five authors of the best 5 tips submitted would each win a Canon Powershot A630 digital camera.
I had a huge number of entries - over 2,500! Thanks to everyone who entered - I really appreciated the time you put into entering your particular tips. Reading all the tips, I noticed a number of very common themes, so it was sometimes hard to choose a 'winning' tip from all the great entries.
After much deliberation. I have selected the five winners:
- Keep Your Camera With You Always by Robyn Januszewski
<li><a href="http://www.digital-photo-secrets.com/tip/55/easily-know-where-the-light-is-coming-from/">Easily Know Where The Light Is Coming From</a> by Vanessa Lister</li>
<li><a href="http://www.digital-photo-secrets.com/tip/56/use-negative-space/">Use Negative Space</a> by Neil Speers</li>
<li><a href="http://www.digital-photo-secrets.com/tip/58/create-a-foreground/">Create a Foreground</a> by Justine Stevens</li>
<li><a href="http://www.digital-photo-secrets.com/tip/59/know-the-age-of-your-batteries/">Know The Age Of Your Batteries</a> by Al Willen</li>
I chose these tips because they each described a simple, yet very effective way of taking better photos.
Thanks again to all who entered. I got lots of great feedback.
If you didn't win this time - stay tuned, because I have more competitions and special prizes in the works.
David.

David, my best wishes for you in 2007!
I have been totally enjoying the course, the tips. What a wonderful idea, I was wondering Dave what happened to the 6th camera for the people who chose the best tips in the running? At any rate I am so pleased that I longed on to your site because it has been everything it promised to be and more. I am planning a career hopefully, I am 50 so it is a switch from what I have been doing.
I plan on doing some formal study and appreciate any training that helps me get there. Thank you so much Dave. Until later. Elena
Thanks to David and all young at heart, sending and enjoying photo tips! I wish everybody a pleasent and healthy year 2007! Lucka
just a thank you for all the tips you have sent and to wish you a happy new year joan
David,
I am 68 years young and have been seriously into photography for more than 50 years. It is a supreme compliment to you that I wish you had been around in my early years with your invaluable tips (when I was struggling with the concepts of depth of field and circle of confusion, among others). Keep up the great work in 2007. As an aside, although I live in the US, I've traveled many times to Melbourne and Sidney and love the Australian people - they are some of the best in the entire world.

Thank you David for sharing your awesome passion for photography with me. Your web site has been an inspiration to me & others I have shared it with.
May 2007 be a year when you come visit Victoria & see the beauty of Buchart's Gardens & maybe go for an outrigger ride on the Gorge to see the wildlife up close & personal.
PS looking forward to another contest.
PPS we have one of the best photography schools here in Victoria BC Canada
Insightful common sense tips that we should all always remember. Especially the first about keeping your camera always with you. If only.......
Thanks for the e-mail updates too. It is nice to check in occasionally to make sure the digital photo secrets endorsement I have kept on my own website is just as valuable and worthwhile as ever.
Keep up the good work.
CJ Morgan
Thanks for the amazing tips.
